
On November 2, 2024, the Deaconess Community celebrated 40 years of serving God in Rwanda. On the same day, they also celebrated the 40-year jubilee of Sister Berthe Mukarurangwa, one of the founding young girl of the community, and the 25-year jubilee of Sister Esperance Rusine in the community.

During the celebration of the Deaconess Community’s Jubilee, the President of the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda expressed great joy over the achievements made during the past forty years. He thanked the sisters for their important contribution to the growth of the Church and to the development of the community in Rubengera Sector, Karongi District, in the Western Province of Rwanda.

The CD-ABK is in partnership with churches that care for and recommend young ladies to join the deaconess’s community. The existing and most active local partners are the following: Presbyterian Church in Rwanda (EPR), Anglican Church in Rwanda (EAR), Baptist Church in Rwanda (AEBR), Karongi District, and Western Province. The main external partners of CD-ABK are the following: Friends of Sisters in Rwanda (VVZR), Kerk in Actie, Waterland Foundation, Communauté des sœurs de Laendli, Communauté des sœurs de Saint Loup, Christliche Fachkräfte International (CFI), United Evangelical Mission (UEM), and DGD foerdershtiftung.
